[KDH: Aug 16, 2015] Nolanville reader says city leaders negotiating to sell part of city park

To the Editor:

According to the KDH, Nolanville is considering building a new community center in the city park at the end of Mesquite Street. However, they won’t commit to it. They are apparently in negotiations with the developer of the property to the east of the park to sell some of the park. This land was given to Nolanville to be used as a city park. If some of it is sold, how long before all of it is sold? And how much will be spent for a small piece of property on which to build a new community center?

Let’s be honest. The “quality folk” of Nolanville have never wanted a park near the Plaza. They want small parks near where they live. Is this in the best interest of the city? Does the working class have no consideration in our council/city manager’s plans? One can only wonder.
