[KDH: Jun 11, 2016] Nolanville reader critical of city for allowing people to feed feral cats

To the Editor:

I saw a vehicle stop on East Avenue H in Nolanville several months ago. Someone got out and fed about two dozen cats that had congregated beside the road.

I went to City Hall to talk to them about this. I was told people from Killeen came out to feed feral cats. They were vague about how to stop this.

We have not had any services from them over the years (one time our council said we did not pay enough taxes to warrant them spending any of their money on the “plaza”).

After due consideration over the past few months, I have come up with a plan to solve this situation.

It is against an ordinance to trap animals in Nolanville (I understand people from other areas of town can borrow traps from the city), so I suggest we apprehend these cats and relocate them to Killeen.

This will save many miles of driving for the people who feed them and make their job much easier. And we will be able to have cat-free yards that allow us to enjoy birds that choose to live in our bushes and enjoy the feeders and birdbaths we put out.
